Create your flawless base

The perfect, affordable, flawless make up base.

Want a flawless base that doesn’t cost the earth? If you answered yes, read on…

Sorry I didn’t post last week, I’ve got a new tiny kitten and he’s taken up all of my time! For pictures of him check my  Instagram! He is the cutest kitten I’ve ever seen, I’m slightly biased I know… Anyway, back to the make up…

All the products that I talk about here are bought in drugstores, these are all from Boots, and the most expensive item is the foundation which is Β£6.99. I should also say, the base is just that, the base of your face, your skin and how that looks with make up on.

I’ve been having lots of compliments on my make up recently, questioning it’s staying time, as most of the time I go to work and come home 10 hours later and all in all, I look as I did when I left that morning.

This may sound obvious, but one thing I purposefully avoid is touching my face during the day. Apart from putting on my make up I never touch my face, because if I do it won’t end well!

If you saw one of my latest blogs you’d know I’m raving about this foundation, Rimmel Match perfection. Sometimes I try make up and initially love it and then the more I use it the less great I find it, but this, this is different!

I do love it, it’s light, it’s dewy, the coverage is good and just looks great on. It does get quite ‘dewy’ shall we say at the end of the day, so if you have oily skin, this one isn’t for you.

This concealer I have loved since I bought it, I don’t use it for spots but I use it where I want to highlight, I do an upside down triangle shape under my eyes, in the centre of my forehead, down the middle of my nose and on my chin. It’s another Rimmel product, it’s the wake me up highlighter, this one’s in Ivory. This really lightens those areas, I use the applicator to put it on and then dab in with my index finger, I find my finger is better than a brush which just moves it around the place.

This concealer I have a love/hate relationship with, its Collection 2000 Lasting perfection. It’s really thick, so when I tried to use it like the one above it looked awful on me, but as a concealer for spots it’s great. It’s really pigmented so hides the redness well!
These three make my go to, everyday flawless base! For staying power I dust Rimmel stay matte powder over the top, the results are fab!

Have you tried any of these? What do you use to get a drugstore flawless base?

I tried the foundation which I really loved, but it usually makes my faces too oily!
