The Debenhams Beauty Secrets Fashion Show | Behind The Scenes
I’ve had such a great day today, I recorded my first ever youtube video (click HERE to subscribe) and then I attended the Debenhams Beauty Secrets Fashion Show, I’ve just got home and couldn’t wait to get started telling you all about it!!
Debenhams Fashion Show
I arrived really early to see all the prep being done, there’s nothing I love more than taking photos of make up (If you’re a follower on Instagram you’ll know all about this) and being completely surrounded by people creating amazing looks on their clients, with their contour on point and their perfect red statement lipstick to go with it.
Lots of the big brands were involved, from YSL to Benefit, Estee Lauder to Urban Decay, all the big names wanted a piece of the action (& I don’t blame them).
The show was in aid of a great cause, called look good, feel better. This is a worldwide cancer support charity, providing practical support for women struggling with the side effects of cancer treatments and making them feel human again.
The atmosphere on the shop floor where all the models were getting their make up perfected by the professionals was electric. You could see the mix of excitement and nerves kicking in as the start time for the show grew closer.
Make up heaven
I had the run of the make up counters there and took full advantage, taking pretty photos of the products used, capturing the models while their transformation was under way, and seeing every ones favorite moment, having your eye make up done without your foundation on and thinking, this doesn’t look great, and then that moment, the pinnacle, when the foundation goes on and *duhhh duhhh*, that’s it, the perfect smokey eye appears, from what seems like the point of no return. I do love watching that happen!
I took a behind the scenes seat at their dress rehearsals, watching the nervous laughter as the models took to the ‘runway’ (which was the aisle of the canteen, it’s all glamorous in fashion you know).
After the rehearsal it was show time, we left and headed to the runway. Lowri, the event organiser led all the models down, reminding the models to all have fun and be confident when they hit the runway.
Then it started
Crowds lined the runway with a huge mix of people who had come from all over to see the models in action. From young groups of girls looking for inspiration for that perfect Christmas outfit, men cheering on their friends that were taking part in the show to the lovely OAPs who positioned themselves with the best view and didn’t care how old they were, they were there to get some inspo on something new to feel sexy in (They assured me they found what they were looking for, I think we all hope we’ll be these women in the future).
I took my place at the end of the runway with lots of photographers and videographers who were all eager to capture that perfect shot. The lights came up and the DJ started. Couples walked down in pairs, wearing an array of outfits, from onesies and Christmas jumpers to incredibly sexy lingerie. Everyone looked amazing!
Each matched with the perfect make up to compliment their outfits, there was even someone wearing a face mask, which looked like a charcoal one (I’m loving anything with charcoal in at the moment!) while looking cosy in her onsie.
The night was a huge success and the audience erupted with cheers as all the models did their final group walk of the runway. A great night all around & lots of money raised for such a great cause.
Hope you enjoyed me taking you behind the scenes, there’ll be more on my Instagram which is @BethEleanor_ — & did I mentioned I started Youtube? I mean I know I did, but I’m just so excited about it. Please subscribe, click HERE to go to my channel.
